Fixed Mobile Convergence - Discover a New Way of Working
| |||
What is Fixed Mobile Convergence?Gage Networks are working with Cable&Wireless to bring you Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC). Cable & Wireless are the only true fixed and mobile operator in the UK - they have created a single network for fixed and mobile calls, allowing for one network, one number and one bill. While convergence has been talked about for a long time without offering customers much benefit, FMC offers the flexibility of a mobile with the economy of a fixed line. In your building, an ordinary mobile phone with our SIM card will communicate via your own tailored Pico cell installed and managed by Gage Networks. This allows office based mobile calls to work over your company network. When leaving the office, calls transfer seamlessly onto a national mobile network, even in mid conversation. FMC allows people a single number - there is no need for an office number, a mobile number and for some a home office number. One direct dial number directs all calls to one device. A single handset and one voicemail makes it easier to keep in touch with clients and colleagues. One device offers greater flexibility working in and out of the office. Consolidating all calls into one easy to manage monthly bill allows for greater transparency for monitoring and management. An estimated 50% of office calls are made from a mobile. FMC will reduce your overall bill as those calls will be via your network. By integrating a mobile core into their next generation network, Cable & Wireless have created one network for both fixed and mobile calls - this means you only need one device and one number for each person, with one supplier for your fixed and mobile calls.
